Leather tool sharpening strop set, including a wooden strop and polishing compound block. The strop measures 28 cm long, 4 cm wide and 1.5 cm deep.
A leather strop is used as the final step in sharpening blades (knives, straight razors, chisels) to polish, refine, and align the edge, removing burrs left by stones, which turns a sharp edge into a razor-sharp, mirror-smooth slicing edge, replacing tearing with clean cutting. It works by smoothing out imperfections and burnishing the metal, especially when used with a polishing compound, to achieve a professional finish and longer-lasting keenness.
